Traditional Chinese Herbal Therapy

The system of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been developed over thousands of years. A variety of herbs are combined into classic formulations to help anything from improving moods, digestion, sleep and allergy symptoms.

Many commonly used herbs in TCM include ones you may find familiar. These include ginger, dates, cinnamon, ginseng, astragalus root and more. The use of the herbs is not as simple as adding them into your diet or supplementation routine. The selection of herbs and the dosage in each formula has different effects on the body. The effects of these formulas and herbs have been studied over time, and have been documented for use in TCM internal medicine.

Modern use of TCM herbs includes using a high level of quality control for high standards of care. Pharmaceutical companies in China, Taiwan and the United States use technology to ensure a high quality product.

The majority of TCM herbs are vegan-friendly, and made of roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, branches and

Animal products such as gelatin or shells are used on occasion, as they are high in minerals and very nourishing- think bone broth but concentrated. If you have any concerns regarding these types of ingredients, please speak to your practitioner for modified versions of these formulas.

Although the media has incorrectly reported the horrendous use of endangered animals in modern TCM, it is important to note that this use is not used or accepted by practitioners of TCM. Some endangered animals are unfortunately purchased on the black market in Asia (it’s banned there as well) for purposes unrelated to Chinese medicine.
